The Center for Clinical Excellence

The Center for Clinical Excellence (CCE) provides the school district practitioner with direct access to high-quality, professional supervision on an individual and/or small group basis in an effort to improve learning outcomes for students through enhanced clinical service delivery. For districts that already provide discipline-specific professional supervision, the Center also provides peer mentoring and group supervision as a viable means of ensuring sufficient opportunities for professional growth and development for the district supervisor.
Why the need?
It would be impossible for any administrator to have content expertise in the varying clinical areas of staff providing services within a school. This creates a challenge if an administrator does not have an understanding of best practice in the field as a basis for evaluation.  This also creates a dilemma when an administrator needs to find support or supervision for a professional who is struggling with their performance and does not personally have that expertise.
What services are offered?
The overarching goal of the Center is to afford school districts throughout the region access to high-quality professional supervision services.  This is accomplished by providing the following services:
  • Professional supervision of building-based practitioner and/or their supervisor. Center staff will provide the district with an end-of-year summary of supervision activities for each practitioner.
  • Professional development in various aspects of supervision including such topics as ethical issues and improving practice through effective supervision practices.
