I am honored to have served as an administrator at Six to Six and TMMS for the past 19 years. Since joining this amazing, diverse school community in 2000, I have been able to see a progression in our school as we prepare our students and our staff to be lifelong learners.
I pride myself in working with students, staff and families as we all learn together. Students in our small, nurturing community are able to form relationships with adults who teach them each day. Through the use of an SRBI model students are able to receive needed support in literacy so that they can fully avail themselves of the marvels of books.
In our continued effort to develop students who are socially conscious people who demonstrate ethical appropriate behaviors, we will continue our work with PBIS this year. By providing students with positive behavioral supports and interventions through implementation of the "TMMS Way" in Grades 5-8, and the "Six to Six Behavioral Expectations" we will continue to provide a safe learning environment for all. Students are expected to be responsible, respectful and safe, all characteristics that I believe that are critical for student success.
As a parent of two, I fully understand how important it is to provide our children with a high level of academics as well as the tools needed to succeed in a diverse world. As the assistant principal, I, along with our staff, strive to meet these demands. When all feel safe to learn, and supported, great things can happen.
Because of my experiences as a parent, I see myself as a resource for parents as you navigate through the elementary as well as the tumultuous middle school years and I welcome parents to stop by or call me with their thoughts and concerns.
Six to Six - TMMS is a wonderful place to prepare our students to become productive, caring citizens. We educate the whole child and provide them with skills to be 21st century learners. Our focus on science in partnership with scientific entities such as the Maritime Center, the Eli Whitney Museum, and Audubon Center help our students learn science concepts through real world learning.
For those of you that are members of our family-centered community, I hope you will get involved in your child's education and become a part of our school through volunteering, attending school events or simply stopping by to visit.
I'm looking forward to a productive year for all.
