Admission to RCA

Admission to the Regional Center for the Arts is open to Fairfield County high schools students with an interest in the performing arts. RCA is a public school of choice for families in Bridgeport, Darien, Easton/Region #9, Fairfield, Greenwich, Monroe, New Canaan, Norwalk, Redding, Ridgefield, Shelton, Stamford, Stratford, Trumbull, Weston, Westport, and Wilton. We also accept students from school outside of our region. RCA students earn academic credits for our program. Grades are sent to the home high school quarterly.

NEW:  RCA is now allowed to accept HOME SCHOOL students!  Parents will be required to pay a small portion (less than 50%) of our tuition.  Transportation is not provided, but we give your home schoolers an incredible performing arts experience.

Open houses are held in the fall and winter for students interested in attending RCA the following school year. The fall info session and tour will take place at RCA on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. Our winter info session and tour will take place on Thursday, Feb. 6 at 6 p.m. The winter session will be a scaled-down version so we encourage you to attend on Nov. 7 if possible. Visitors can meet current RCA students and staff, and tour the building. We encourage families of prospective students to attend our performances.

Admission Process
As part of the admission process we ask students to participate in a placement audition for us to better understand her or his experience as a performer. It also gives us the chance to gauge the passion students have for the performing arts. Placement Auditions will take place on Saturday, February 22 and Saturday, March 1. We hope to send out invitations to students in April.

Enrollment Caps
Some districts and departments may need to cap their enrollment at RCA. If our enrollment from a district or in a particular department exceeds the cap, we conduct a lottery of prospective students, and those who are not offered a seat will be placed on a waiting list.
