CES Councils

What is a CES Council?
Through collegial debate and evaluation of practice and resources, content area councils build authentic professional learning networks of diverse educators and leaders focused on improving teaching and learning outcomes. Members have the opportunity to:
  • Build relationships with educators across the CES region (and beyond)
  • Construct new knowledge and improve practices through active participation and social interaction
  • Collaborate to create solutions for current problems of practice
  • Stay abreast of latest news from CES, CSDE, and new/updated legislation
If your district is a member of the Leadership Institute at CES,
Council Meetings are included in your membership.

If your district is not a member of the CES Leadership Institute, there is a once-a-year Council Meeting cost of $2500 which allows educators and leaders from your school/organization to attend any of our Council Meetings (we currently conduct 13 Council networks which meet 3-5 times per school year), or schools/organizations can join one council at a cost of $250.
Not sure if your school or district is a member of CES Leadership Institute? No problem! Contact Audrey Barbarotta, PDS Administrative Assistant, at or 203-365-8847.
Who should attend CES Content Area Council meetings?
Curriculum administrators/supervisors, school administrators, department chairs, and teachers who help support teaching and learning within their organization
