Early Childhood Services
Beginnings, our state-approved Birth-to-Three program provides early intervention to infants and toddlers.
Each day, our trained professional staff travel arrive onsite to work with families and children in their homes, childcare programs, and community activities. The goal is to provide to families with the resources they need to nurture and support their child's growth and development. Staff work with parents to identify their priorities for the child and family. Outcomes are developed and achieved through strategies that can be used throughout a regular routine to help the child.
By accessing community resources, support from extended family, friends and other social circles such as church affiliations, as well as participation in activities with other families, staff help the family further develop the child's socialization, interaction, and play skills. Six months prior to the child's third birthday, Beginnings staff work with the family to prepare for transition out of the birth- to-three system. Options are identified based on the ongoing needs of the child and can include referral to their local public school for special education and/or participation in community nursery schools or playgroups.
