What districts and schools will be there?
All of the participating districts, schools and universities are listed here.
What is the purpose of the recruitment fair?
The Connecticut Educator Recruitment Fair is an invitation for prospective candidates to meet with school districts about your candidacy. A variety of school systems will be available to meet with various candidates to:
- Provide information
- Answer questions
- Conduct interviews
It is very important for each candidate attending the fair to bring multiple copes of your resume. Registration packets will be provided to each candidate at the morning information session. In the packet will be information from each participating district that will explain its system and potential staffing needs.
Understand that in the five months between the fair and the start of the 2019-20 school year there may be retirements, unexpected resignations or requests for leaves of absence as well as unexpected enrollment changes which will adjust the district needs. It is important for you to continually monitor individual district needs as they update their respective web sites.
Each of the participating districts is looking for the very best prospective candidates.
What other employment opportunities are available?
All employment options will be considered. Certified professional assignments are the main focus for the Fair. Often, school administrators will identify an individual whom they would eventually like to hire, so will consider them for Graduate Intern assignments and also long-term substitute assignments as interim measures. Paraprofessional assignments or teacher aide assignments will also be available for consideration even if as a temporary assignment while one waits until the preferred position becomes available. Most districts will also have part time assignments for consideration.
