The Regional Center for the Arts is a part-time, public interdistrict magnet high school for Fairfield County students interested in the performing arts. RCA promotes voluntary integration by encouraging collaboration and cooperation among socioeconomic and ethnically diverse school districts.

Currently, 189 high school students in grades 9-12 from Bridgeport, Fairfield, Milford, Monroe, New Canaan, Newtown, Norwalk, Redding, Region 9, Ridgefield, Shelton, Stamford, Stratford, Trumbull, Weston Westport, and Wilton school districts attend. RCA’s student body reflects the racial, ethnic and socioeconomic diversity of Greater Bridgeport. Students who feel a passion for performance, with or without professional training, are welcome to apply to the program.

Applications Remain Open!
We have completed our regular auditions for the 2024-2025

Applicants can still apply online and will be put on the waitlist for their department. We recommend to email hannonj@cestrumbull.org to notify us of that application, as we do not regularly check applications once auditions are done. If an applicant on the waitlist is selected, they will be invited to audition at a later date.

Principal's Message

Hello! Thank you for visiting the RCA website. I am the very proud principal of the Regional Center for the Arts. At RCA, we strive to provide a safe and inclusive community for high school students with a passion for the performing arts.  I am excited to begin my third year as principal with our largest RCA student body we've had in more than a decade.

RCA is a place where students can spread their wings in the areas of dance, music, theatre, creative media/filmmaking, tech theatre and musical theatre. Students attend their traditional district high schools in the morning for core academic subjects and then attend RCA from 1:30 - 4:45 on Monday through Thursday.

We understand and embrace the incredibly important role arts education can play in the lives of young adults. Our teachers, professionals in their field, share their knowledge, expertise and experience with our students. On the website, you will find information about our school including our handbook, course offerings, the application process, and upcoming performances. Please check us out and let me know if you have any questions!

I look forward to meeting you or seeing you at an upcoming RCA performance!
