Using the Flipped Classroom to Enhance Vocabulary Development and Technology

Date: Friday - March 30, 2012

Time: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Location: 40 lindeman Drive, Computer Lab

This hands-on workshop will focus on using technology to support direct instruction of vocabulary as detailed in the Flipped Classroom video. During this session, participants will review effective strategies for choosing vocabulary words for direct instruction. Using their own instructional materials, participants will identify Tier Two words and use SMART Bboard Notebook to create a variety of activities to support students acquiring this new vocabulary. Additionally, participants will learn the basic fundamentals of Prezi so students may create a presentation to demonstrate a deeper understanding of the focus vocabulary words.
